Removing a tree can be dangerous without correct training and the equipment to do so. Here at Orchard we are fully trained to fell and dismantle all shapes and sizes of tree. Some are felled in the traditional methods where the space and situation are available, most are climbed using ropes and harnesses, lowering equipment is used to safely dismantle them from top to bottom.
When your trees get too big one option is a crown reduction. The entire canopy of the tree is reduced by a percentage of its size, eg. 25%-30%. Every branch is accessed and cut back to leave the tree in its natural shape, just smaller.
Crown cleaning involves accessing the canopy of your tree and clearing it out of everything that shouldn't be there, removing twisted and rubbing branches, diseased and dangerous limbs, and most importantly deadwood which posses a huge risk to anyone below.
Crown thinning is a practice similar to a crown reduction, the canopy is thinned of its branches by a percentage of its entirety. The major advantages to this practice is allowing more light to pass through the canopy onto the ground below, this allows better growing conditions underneath the tree and letting light into windows.
Crown lifting removes the lowest limbs of the canopy to balance its shape and size. Lifting can result in more clearance under the canopy as well as more light able to pass under.
Proximity pruning removes unwanted and problem branches away from valuable objects, such as; buildings, aerials, chimneys, garages and cars.
Certain species of trees can be pollarded. This involves removing all branches to leave just the main structure of the stem for the tree to return and rejuvenate. Re-pollarding involves returning the new grown back to the previous pollard point for the cycle to start again.
Young trees and saplings need care and attention if they are to reach maturity. Formative pruning and reshaping removes the incorrect growth which can leave the specimen to grow unevenly and which will in turn lead to its demise before its time.
Certain species of tree respond to regular pruning which means they can be shaped. Round, square, cones, spiral, pyramids and much more can be achieved with the correct care and attention.
Unfortunately trees fall over sometimes, this is a unforeseen situation which just needs to be dealt with, also trees can fail partly resulting in it being in a dangerous state, when these need to be removed special care needs to taken to result in a safe takedown.
When a tree does fall it rarely results in no damage happening, this is why we pay for insurance. We offer a full service from quote to finish, liaising with insurers and third parties fully to get the job done quick and with piece of mind.
Fruit trees need specialist care and pruning knowledge to result in healthy and plentiful cropping.
Chemicals have many applications, controlling weed growth, eradicating plants/grass/weeds and treating fruit trees to promote healthy fruit growth. We can offer many solutions to any problem.
Tree Preservation Order's (TPO's) protect individual trees, groups of trees and woodlands, preventing any work being carried out on such trees without an authorised planning application. Orchard give free advise and can submit an application on your behalf.
